"Hit the Bar" Episode 50: Jesus was a "Crowd Pleaser?" Really??

Crowds, movies and TVs to draw a crowd? Social media? Why is a good question. I have like 27 reasons why. Where’s that in the Bible? ”
Here is our “Hit the Bar” Episode 50: Jesus was a “Crowd Pleaser?” Really?? from September 14, 2022.
And, Steve Kozar responded (accurately so):
“‘Cause at all the other churches people sleep. We’re doing stunts we got lights and screaming and music and we’re gonna drive a car across stage. You’re not sleeping here like all the losers out there. ”
To which Paulette commented:

Compare those thoughts to the following verses in the Scriptures:
“In the year of King Uzziah’s death I saw the Lord sitting on a throne, lofty and exalted, with the train of His robe filling the temple.
Seraphim stood above Him, each having six wings: with two he covered his face, and with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew.
And one called out to another and said, “Holy, Holy, Holy, is the LORD of hosts, The whole earth is full of His glory.”
And the foundations of the thresholds trembled at the voice of him who called out, while the temple was filling with smoke.
Then I said, “Woe is me, for I am ruined! Because I am a man of unclean lips, And I live among a people of unclean lips; For my eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts.””
Seraphim (plural) are magnificent angelic beings of the highest order, and are in appearance as described above. Take a look at the throne of God in Ezekiel:
“As I looked, behold, a storm wind was coming from the north, a great cloud with fire flashing forth continually and a bright light around it, and in its midst something like glowing metal in the midst of the fire. Within it there were figures resembling four living beings. And this was their appearance: they had human form. Each of them had four faces and four wings. Their legs were straight and their feet were like a calf’s hoof, and they gleamed like burnished bronze. Under their wings on their four sides were human hands. As for the faces and wings of the four of them, their wings touched one another; their faces did not turn when they moved, each went straight forward. As for the form of their faces, each had the face of a man; all four had the face of a lion on the right and the face of a bull on the left, and all four had the face of an eagle. Such were their faces. Their wings were spread out above; each had two touching another being, and two covering their bodies. And each went straight forward; wherever the spirit was about to go, they would go, without turning as they went. In the midst of the living beings there was something that looked like burning coals of fire, like torches darting back and forth among the living beings. The fire was bright, and lightning was flashing from the fire. And the living beings ran to and fro like bolts of lightning.
Now as I looked at the living beings, behold, there was one wheel on the earth beside the living beings, for each of the four of them. The appearance of the wheels and their workmanship was like sparkling beryl, and all four of them had the same form, their appearance and workmanship being as if one wheel were within another. Whenever they moved, they moved in any of their four directions without turning as they moved. As for their rims they were lofty and awesome, and the rims of all four of them were full of eyes round about. Whenever the living beings moved, the wheels moved with them. And whenever the living beings rose from the earth, the wheels rose also. Wherever the spirit was about to go, they would go in that direction. And the wheels rose close beside them; for the spirit of the living beings was in the wheels. Whenever those went, these went; and whenever those stood still, these stood still. And whenever those rose from the earth, the wheels rose close beside them; for the spirit of the living beings was in the wheels.”
There are other accounts, in the Old Testament, another reason we need the Old Testament in order to be grounded in truth about God in His grace and wrath.
“For the LORD your God is a consuming fire, a jealous God. | ...for our God is a consuming fire. ”
A reading of Hebrews 11, the deeper you get into that chapter, the more you see the vast amount of suffering people have experienced for believing God.
What is this foolishness we see? Crowd pleasing junk. That’s what it is.
“So then, my beloved, just as you have always obeyed, not in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your salvation with fear and trembling; for it is God who is at work in you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure.”
“But realize this, that in the last days difficult times will come. For men will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, revilers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy, unloving, irreconcilable, malicious gossips, without self-control, brutal, haters of good, treacherous, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, holding to a form of godliness, although they have denied its power; Avoid such men as these. For among them are those who enter into households and captivate weak women weighed down with sins, led on by various impulses, always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. Just as Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses, so these men also oppose the truth, men of depraved mind, rejected in regard to the faith. But they will not make further progress; for their folly will be obvious to all, just as Jannes’s and Jambres’s folly was also.”
Seriously, do we dare joke, jest, entertain, etc., in “church” when lives are in the balance between heaven and hell? When we understand how magnificent is the Creator God? Do we need to act like court jesters? Should we? There is grace, but stretching the limits to the ludicrous is … ridiculous … raunchy … horrid … displeasing to God, for He is Holy and Righteous. We shall stand before Him one day, by ourselves and without Christ, there will be no hope. This is serious business.
A word from the Book of James:
“Let not many of you become teachers, my brethren, knowing that as such we will incur a stricter judgment.”
And those teachers are believers … what about the false teachers?
““Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter.
“Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?’
“And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; DEPART FROM ME, YOU WHO PRACTICE LAWLESSNESS.’”
Hope?
““For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.
“For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him.
“He who believes in Him is not judged; he who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. ...”
